Day 5

Subject: [firstname]: Time to put your mind to work!

Hi [firstname],

A good way to “upgrade” your brain regularly is to use a technique called Mindfulness Meditation.

There are a lot of misconceptions about mindfulness meditation. Contrary to what you may have heard, you don't have to be a Buddhist or sit cross-legged on the floor to meditate. You can meditate regardless of what faith (or none) you follow. And you don't have to adopt a particular posture to meditate, either. In fact you can practice mindfulness meditation anywhere – even when you're walking down the street!

Basically, the goal with Mindfulness is to be “aware” of what's going on around you; to be “present” of your own thoughts and to reflect on them. Mindfulness doesn't encourage you to try and empty your mind like some other forms of meditation. Instead, the objective with mindfulness is simply to let your thoughts “drift by like clouds in the sky”.

Being more aware of what's going on allows you to take on more information – subtle things you may not have otherwise noticed. Your subconscious mind takes all this on board, so when the thoughts DO come again, they're likely to be much more powerful than before.

Taking more information on board means you'll be able to make better decisions and have more determination to drive forward towards your goals.

Put the power of your subconscious mind to work – it's more powerful than you realize!
